Performance chemicals supplier Dehon Group and Linde Gas Benelux, member of technology company The Linde Group, have agreed on the acquisition of the global ethylene oxide business of Inventec Performance Chemicals SA, a fully owned subsidiary of Dehon Group. The acquisition, effective September 15th, 2012, is accomplished by Chemogas NV, a subsidiary of Linde Gas Benelux.
“The sale of this activity is the result of a reorganization of our product portfolio, enabling us to focus on our core markets and to strengthen our international company`s position on a long term basis,” said Pierre-Etienne Dehon, President of the Dehon Group.
“This deal will foster Inventec’s worldwide position in the high tech chemicals market where we offer products and services for electronics, aeronautics, precision mechanics, aerosol, foam expansion” added Patrice Rollet, General Manager of Inventec.
Don Huberts, Regional Manager Europe West at Linde Gas, said: “This acquisition strengthens Chemogas’ position as leading supplier of ethylene oxide and related services. We will now further improve and optimize our global services, to the benefit of our valued ethylene oxide customers in more than 45 countries.”
“Inventec will perform as Chemogas` toll-filling partner, in order to guarantee a smooth transition of the business to Grimbergen, Belgium, later in 2013, “ said Dirk Battig, General Manager of Chemogas NV.
Ethylene oxide from Chemogas and Inventec is mainly used as a sterilization gas for medical devices.
Chemogas, located in Grimbergen, Belgium, is globally active in the filling and blending of chemical gases, next to its activities in waste treatment and supply of technical services and components.
